Christian Megliola, Senior Vice President / Chief Sports Strategist/Team Leader
A three-time award-winning television producer, Christian brings a wealth of Boston media experience to his role as team leader and chief sports strategist at Regan Communications. After four years at Channel 4 in Boston, Christian took the helm of the FOX 25 sports department for that station’s news launch in 1996. Christian left FOX 25 in 1999 to serve for a year as the editor-in-chief for AthleteNow.com, where he was in charge of content for the personal websites of dozens of athletes including Ray Bourque, Charles Barkley, and Allan Houston. Christian also played a prominent role in the production of two top-selling videos chronicling the history of Boston sports, co-writing "Boston Red Sox: 100 Years in Baseball History," and serving as a producer for the "Banner Years: A Boston Garden Retrospective." Both videos won New England Emmy Awards. He has also worked as a writer and producer for Channel 7 news and has been a contributing writer to Boston Baseball magazine. Christian has been with Regan Communications since 2000 and handles a wide variety of clients, including the Boston Celtics, Dunkin' Donuts, New Balance, Mohegan Sun, RE/MAX of New England, Boston magazine, the Boston Cannons, The Boston Park Plaza Hotel, and the Cask ‘n Flagon among others. Christian serves on the board of The Sports Museum and the Boston chapter of the National Sports Marketing Network.
Lisa Hiland, Vice President / Team Leader
Lisa Hiland is an experienced manager with 10+ years of consumer, corporate and technology public relations and marketing experience. She has placed the full gamut of stories in a variety of top print and broadcast media nationwide. Since joining Regan Communications in the fall of 2006, Lisa has worked on and overseen such accounts as the New England Spring Flower Show, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Salon Marc Harris, Focus Fitness and a variety of top Boston area restaurants. Prior to Regan, Lisa served as Communications Manager at Mullen where she worked with Match.com, Olympus and the Grain Foods Foundation. Prior to Mullen, she was with Citigate Cunningham in Cambridge, MA, and G.S. Schwartz & Co. and Burson-Marsteller, both in New York, NY. She began her career at Schwartz Communications in San Francisco. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Fordham University.
Kara Crowley, Vice President / Special Events Director
Kara manages manages special events and a select client list that includes Commerce Insurance, Sullivan Tire and Lookout Farm. Kara joined the company in 1998 as an Account Executive. Prior to joining Regan, she was an ENG producer at WCVB-TV, Channel 5. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
Matthew Watkins, Vice President / Team Leader
Matt joined Regan Communications Group in 2000 working to service many retail and hospitality accounts before serving as the Project Spokesman and Community Relations Manager for the $385 million Route 3 North Transportation Improvements Project. Matt also has extensive experience in crisis communications including work on the Big Dig project. Matt later managed a team and coordinated all aspects of the community outreach program for the NSTAR 345 kV Transmission Reliability Project including both media relations and community relations. Currently Matt’s team manages a variety of accounts including several real estate, business and retail clients. In addition, Matt oversees a team in Connecticut managing community relations on behalf of two general contractors for a $1 billion plus electric transmission line project spanning 69-miles through 18 municipalities. Matt is a graduate of Bryant College in Rhode Island.
Nicole Russo, Vice President / Team Leader
Nicole has more than ten years of experience in Public Relations and her focus is mainly on hospitality and restaurants. At Regan, Nicole supervises a team of six handling high-profile accounts such as Todd English’s restaurants, Hotel Commonwealth, Flemings and Legal Sea Foods. Nicole has also worked in Las Vegas at Kirvin Communications where she handled the public relations for restaurants and nightclubs located inside the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. She was the Marketing and PR Director for Fire + Ice Restaurant Group, where she handled all of the marketing, PR and advertising for the multi-unit restaurant group. Earlier, Nicole worked in politics for Congressman John F. Tierney in Washington, DC and she was a White House intern. Nicole is a graduate of Lynchburg College in Virginia.
Mariellen Burns, Vice President / Director of Crisis Communications
Mariellen has 20 years of experience in media and public relations. As Regan Communication Group’s Director of Crisis Communications, she assists all teams in dealing with any crisis, or potential crisis situations in a strategic manner. She also oversees some of Regan’s most seasoned news and public relations veterans, managing special projects and accounts.
Mariellen is a 13-year veteran Boston television news reporter; she works as a radio talk show host, and has several years experience in high volume media/communications director posts for the Boston Police Department, and the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority/Central Artery Tunnel Project. Mariellen co-chaired the public affairs sub-committee with her counterpart at the United States Secret Service for the 2004 DNC, the first National Convention to be held since 9/11, and established the (JIC) joint information center for the event. In addition she acted as spokesperson for the joint planning committee of the federal, state and city security and transportation agencies involved planning and executing the event, which has become a blue-print for future conventions. Burns has a close working relationship with electronic and print media in Boston and across the nation. For over fifteen years she has done extensive media training for various constituencies.
Nicole L. Kieser, Director of Television Relations
As television director, Nicole oversees all television publicity for our clients. Most recently, Nicole Kieser served as the Press Secretary for the Mihos for Governor Campaign. Nicole has worked extensively in Boston's television news market. She began her career as an assignment editor for WHDH, 7News, and later held the position at Fox 25 News. In 2000, she returned to WHDH as a News Planning and Research Editor. She has also freelanced for New England Cable News and as a voice over artist.
She was on air talent for WESX 1230-AM in Salem, until the station was sold in 2006; and has taught classes in Broadcast News at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
Nicole is a life long resident of Massachusetts. She graduated with honors from Emerson College in 1997 with a Mass Communications degree in Television News Production.
Bethany Tripp, Director of Radio Relations
As radio director, Bethany is the link between Regan Communications clients and radio stations. Bethany has an extensive media background including both television and radio. She comes to us from Adelphia Media Services, where she worked with cable networks and clients to develop and execute custom promotions such at the "Stop Breast Cancer for Life" walk in Burlington, VT and "Football Fanatic" in Plattsburgh, NY. Prior to her work in cable, Bethany worked as a radio promotions manager for nearly six years, polishing her skills at well-know New England stations such as 92 PRO-FM and WPRO-AM in Providence, RI. Bethany earned her B.A. in Communication Studies/Public Relations at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA.
